Positioning is KEY 🔑 | TMR#38
Are you selling the same thing, the same way, to the same people?
I want to dive into a topic that’s been on my mind lately: positioning.
More specifically, positioning in marketing and sales.
Positioning is an underrated yet incredibly effective element in our field that too many agency owners overlook 👀.
And it’s OBVIOUS. You see it EVERYWHERE… People are selling the same things in the same way to the same people…
…are you guilty of the same thing?
It’s important to realize that there is nothing new under the sun.
Health, wealth, and relationships have always been huge categories for pain points.
The same problems have existed and the same solutions have existed for ages—they just come in different shapes and sized.
Those who truly succeed are the ones who position their solutions uniquely enough to stand out.
Start being an innovator.
In the digital marketing space, particularly within SMMA, there's a lot of copy-pasting going on.
Many are selling offers they can't fulfill, merely following instructions without truly learning how to build a sustainable business.
This approach not only burns out professionals but also tarnishes the industry’s reputation.
Following someone else's lead isn't inherently wrong, but it’s crucial to understand the principles of creating a compelling offer and positioning it uniquely for your prospective clients.
This often-overlooked aspect requires trial and error, close one-on-one coaching, and constant innovation.
Positioning is a game-changer.
It makes your offer, sales, and messaging more effective, simpler, and even easier to execute.
The sooner you realize its importance, the sooner you can dive in and start mastering it.
(btw, I have a methodology I use for positioning my products that has worked wonders for me, and I’m putting together some training on it. DM me on IG/FB if you're interested!)
Action Items for the Week:
Evaluate Your Offer: Take a close look at what you're offering. If it’s something that can be easily replicated by someone else, think about how you can make it your own.
Identify Your Unique Angle: What makes your solution different? Spend some time brainstorming and refining your USP (unique selling proposition).
Test and Learn: Implement small changes in how you position your offer and observe the results. This trial-and-error process should never stop.
Seek Feedback: Reach out to your clients or peers for feedback on your positioning. Use their insights to improve your approach.
Challenge yourself this week to rethink and refine your positioning. It could be the key to unlocking greater success and differentiation in your market.
Leggo!
