This newsletter is meant to force you into a decision. And no matter the decision, you will walk away from this newsletter with a new mission.
Today, on this Monday, you will either grow your company, or you will find another way to use your skills and abilities.
Today, you will make the decision to push your company forward, or you will make the decision to slowly kill your business in a painful, stressful manner.
Not everyone is a CEO
Not everyone is meant to be a CEO.
The workforce lacks great CMOs, managers, and employees because there is such pressure to be a âleader,â âentrepreneur,â or âbusiness owner.â
But all this does is lead to sub-par businesses offering sub-par services to unhappy clients. đ˘
Be honest with yourself. Are you chasing something larger than a paycheck? Do you get out of bed each morning without an alarm clock because you are paving the way toward a bigger future?
Having an âoff dayâ is fineâbut having an âoff monthâ is not. If you lack vision, then youâre not acting as a CEO, and today it is time to get that in line OR stop being a CEO.
If youâre not growing, youâre dying
A business is meant to grow. A business is meant to be profitable. đ˛
Look back at the goals you set for your business this year.
If youâre meeting and exceeding goals, then this isnât for you. Iâm talking specifically to the âCEOâ who has failed miserably. Why are you failing?
Most outcomes come back to âskillâ or âwill.â You either tried your hardest and failed due to lack of skill/tools/timing/opportunity, OR you really didnât try that hard at all.
Maybe you got distracted, or (most likely), your vision isnât exciting enough (if you even have one). đĽą
If you are not pushing to grow your company as a CEO, then you (and your business) are dying a slow and painful death. It is time for you to push ahead, or step aside and bring in someone who has a bigger vision than you do.
That could mean hiring a CEO, bringing in a partner, or just leaving and going to work for a CEO with a vision where you can contribute in a big way.
But pretending to be a CEO and not pushing for growth doesnât benefit anyone. đ§ââď¸
Make a decision
You know whether youâre being the CEO your company needs or not.
And whether you are, or youâre not doesnât matter. All that matters is what you do NEXT.
Make a decision right now to do what needs to be done to GROW, or make the decision to work for (or alongside) someone else who is growing.
Stop wasting your, your clientâs, and your teamâs time just so you can lollygag around as a âCEO.â
Start being a CEO, or start working with one. đŻ
If you want to be a CEO, then write down what you need to do TODAY to bring revenue or clients into your business, and DO THAT.
If you do NOT do what I just said, then it is time to step aside.
Make the decision right now and make this Monday Reset the one that pushes you in the direction you are meant to go in.
